Barbara came to Minnesota in January of 2008 from York, Nebraska.  While in York, she discovered her love for working with college students at York College.  She spent 9 years in the Student Affairs Department, with the last 6 years as the Dean of Students.  Working at the U is giving her the opportunity to experience her favorite part of College Student Affairs...one-to-one contact with students.  Barbara enjoys learning about each person's journey and seeing them work toward fulfilling their goals.

Barbara is bi-coastal in her education.  She received a Bachelor's Degree in Education from West Chester University, in West Chester, Pennsylvania and a Master's Degree in College Student Affairs from Azusa Pacific University in Azusa, California.  It's a good thing that she enjoys traveling!  While she has visited many places including Japan, Dominican Republic and Haiti, right now she is enjoying exploring Minnesota.  When at home, she likes to spend time in the kitchen or doing projects with her family.
